I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

I enjoyed learning about a child star’s experience of fame and the way she had to deal with being in the spotlight from such a young age. It is by no means a relatable read, but I think the reader can empathize with the author quite a bit.
Some aspects of wanting to please your mother no matter what and resenting her at the same time are so complex and well-written.
Graphic: Cancer, Child abuse, Eating disorder, Vomit, Grief, and Death of parent
Moderate: Body shaming, Emotional abuse, Panic attacks/disorders, Physical abuse, Toxic relationship, Gaslighting, and Alcohol
