Twisted Together by Pepper Winters

I love Q and Tess, I really do. But I almost didn't make it through this book. The first 175 pages or so needed to go. In the last book, Tess went through about 75 pages of self-doubt, she's not good enough for Q, he won't want her when he finds out what she did...etc. I mean Q let her beat him with a whip, which she did and she almost killed him so she could get out of her head and start to heal. So this book should've started with her having that mentality. Except it felt like we backslid and she wasn't really healed. I would be giving this book 5 stars if it weren't for the first 175 pages. The inner dialogue was just too much. And the chapters were super painful to get through because of how long they were with the constant Q can't know what I did, he won't want me...ARGH!!! Trust me, I get it, she's been through a lot, but man, at some point it has to stop or the book needs to end.

Once Q finally helps her get over it, the book was great. It was the Q and Tess I have loved throughout this series.

“I’m not marrying you for the pleasure of calling you my wife, esclave. I’m not marrying you because it’s the evolution of a relationship. I’m marrying you so I have claim on you forever. Your soul will be mine for eternity. In sickness and in health, in life and in death, you will belong to me. And I will belong to you.”
