One of the best YA books I've read in a long time because the harsh, complicated nature of being a neglected teen is not dumbed down or softened for readers. Because of this, the book feels so real and raw and beautiful. Sure, the main characters are immature but not in ways that is sometimes so annoying in other teen reads. Throughout the whole thing K. ancrum is so clear with why they are acting as they do and your heart is pulled along on the journey.
