This book is bad, but it could be worse. I don't think this book earns its ending; too much has happened and gone unaddressed/untalked about. The central issue stems from miscommunication, but the problem is not resolved through actual, clear communication. Also, this book wants to talk about how marginalized groups can still be bigoted towards other marginalized groups, but we never have an actual discussion in which characters acknowledge that they have been bigoted. Sana (along with other characters in the novel) says a *lot* of racist stuff, but she refuses to acknowledge that she is being racist until, like, the second to last page of the book (and she learns this after an off-page conversation).
