We Free the Stars
by Hafsah Faizal
If you take out the romance I think this book would have been a lot better. The romance was almost non existent and when it was happening it didn’t feel natural. There was lots of unsaid things that you had to infer. And just overall a lot going on. The angst between the lovers was just annoying and dragged on far too long.
I loved the world building and the actual plot which is why I went with 3 stars. The story was very interesting and I loved how magic was used in the story. I also loved the friendship of the group. They all were very different and each brought something unique to the table.
Altair had by far the best storyline. The things we learn about him as the story goes on just really suck you in. I loved his wittiness and how honest he was.
Lastly the ending felt rushed with Zafira and Nasir. He had offered her everything and she turned him down only to change her mind And boom the story is over. There was so much potential for them!!! They got married and we didn’t even get to read about it? Laa!!!!!!!!!!!!
