Unraveling Oliver by Liz Nugent

3.0

This is probably one of the most interesting ways a thriller has been executed not because of the plot but because how the author chose to write this story. It felt like a character analysis or a true crime documentary about the infamous criminal at the forefront of this book, Oliver Ryan. The story was slow moving at times, but I couldn’t help but want to know how this story ends. I really enjoyed the different perspectives we got of the people who knew Oliver at different points of his life. This book really didn’t feel like a thriller and I found myself being bored at the plot. After the “plot twist” was revealed it was very lackluster and anticlimactic. The character of Oliver was a good mystery in itself so this thriller was not so bad, but could have been better though.
