Promising but ultimately needed to be edited down to about 1/3 or 1/2 of its length. The same conflicts kept repeating.
FMC was not “likeable” but her motivations were understandable. So actually she was fine. Actually her family was the worst. They treated her poorly and don’t get their comeuppance nor any hashing it out, and for a book that was so talky, that could’ve been addressed. So I didn’t care at all that she wasn’t “likeable ” - she could’ve been way meaner and it would’ve been justified!!.Disappointing.
Won’t be reading the others in the series bc they’re about her siblings and I don’t want to spend time with them. I
would try more by this author tho.
