The Apple Tree by Jewel E. Ann
4.0
“You can walk the line, or you can build a fence along it so they have to stay on their side. And that’s part of growing up. But it also means they can no longer be there to save you. If you want to fly, you have to be willing to fall and even crash. But if you can do that and show them that your strength is greater than your mistakes and imperfections, they will see that they raised you right.”
The Apple Tree is an angsty age-gap, forbidden, single-dad romance & my God was it beautiful.
The depth and sincerity behind Eve & Kyle’s romance was done stunningly. These two are complex characters and Jewel E. Ann does a wonderful job ensuring her readers are feeling all of the emotions her characters are feeling.
As gorgeous as this love story is, I genuinely appreciate the struggles that Eve and Kyle faced - both individually and together. This dove so much deeper than just age gap and maturity differences. I was pulling for these two throughout the whole book… even when my heart physically ached.
If you’re feeling iffy after book one, I urge you take a chance on book two. This was a beautiful read with a hard earned HEA.
