A really dazzling collection. I am so happy to finally have read Munro’s writing. All of her short stories in this collection are so delicately and precisely written that I didn’t mind the slow pacing. A meticulous eye for detail and a precision that fills every story on domestic life, Munro recapitulates some of the deepest human emotions in these nine short stories. My favorite ones include “Comfort,” “Nettles,” and “The Bear Came Over the Mountain,” the last of which should be studied by anyone wanting to write a good short story.
