"What did you expect?"
I fell in love with this book since the very first few pages and I knew that I will be thoroughly enjoying it. It was a delight to see the journey of William Stoner, his love for literature, his growth from a plain farmboy to a professor. I felt sorry for him, proud of him, and was also infuriated because of him.
What made this book so beautiful is that it takes a master storyteller to churn a story so ordinary about a man so plain into something so impactful and revered.
