Really enjoyed this series of modern surrealist fairytales! It's not always cohesive and sensible, but that's okay! My ranking of all 14 of L. Frank Baum's Oz novels goes as follows:
- The Lost Princess of Oz
- The Marvelous Land of Oz
- The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
- The Tin Woodman of Oz
- Rinkitink in Oz
- The Patchwork Girl of Oz
- The Magic of Oz
- The Scarecrow of Oz
- The Emerald City of Oz
- The Road to Oz
- Glinda of Oz
- Tik-Tik of Oz
- Ozma of Oz
- Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz
As much as I appreciate Ruth Plumly Thompson coming up with a 15th (and more) novel based on the late L. Frank Baum's notes, it's not quite enjoyable and even problematic from a modern standpoint.
