Love a woman in stem but…
Rich privileged white eco warrior girl falls in love with a boy who’s just trying to keep his whole family afloat through financial hardship and there’s tons of fighting over him taking a very good position at a company notorious for bad environmental ethics.
The characters, emotions, and the story are well written but it’s infuriating that someone so smart (Alex) can be so lacking in common sense or knowledge how the real world actually works. And is 1000% eco warrior until it comes to getting the latest iPhone every year 🙄 somehow that’s acceptable and not allowed to be commented on. And she gets pissed off at anyone who tries to reason with her or disagrees with her very limited unrealistic view point.
I really wanted to see character development in her but there was none. It’s constantly pointed out that she thinks in black and white but does nothing to change it.
