It took me a while to finish this one, because the first half kind of dragged out, and I wasn’t invested in it. However, Dolly is a great writer, and the book gets infinitely better during the second half.
I have a very different background from the author herself, but she describes human experiences in a very touching manner. I like the way she doesn’t shy away from the inescapability of dealing with these random, massive sorrows that life throws at us.
Not the best read, and not my favorite of hers, but still good
