The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

5.0

Wilde's writing style made me want to copy each paragraph as a quote in my notebook . I think he was trying to convey the aesthetics of youth and life through his words.
He gives eloquent speeches about enjoying life with it's beauty and immorality that I feel obliged to follow.
Even though, I don't claim to have fully understood the book and it's references, but I can appreciate its beauty, the sublime contrast between the characters, the fascinating surrender of Dorian's soul to the pleasure of the aesthetic, and complexity of Henry's character and his indifference and dislike to all that that troubles a person and mar the beautiful.
I am not sure if the hero of this story is Dorian with with his narcissism and vanity, or Henry with his influence and charming, manipulative words.
would've loved to read a story about Harry and discovered more about his character.
