Really lovely book.
I expected a romance novel and that is, in consequence, what I received. For me, personally, the book is split in 4 parts: the first part (the beginning, when she was at her Aunt's, and at school... all the way to when she advertises) was good, enjoyable, the second part (from where we left off to when she almost marries him) was sincerely GOLDEN, then the third part (when she leaves him(the decision itself) and after she leaves) was not so enjoyable for me; but I understood why it had to happen (independence of the character, character improvement, and not just blind love, but compassion for his situation and awareness of her own), and last but not least the last 20 pages or so of the book, or the ending, were good, beautiful, brought a smile up on my face, and gave me, and, I say this in hope, any other reader a sweet sentiment of closure.
~another note: throughout the book the main character, Jane, is compared to a bird in it's cage; we see in the beginning of the novel the she reads a book on this subject, and even she, later on, compares herself to an imprisoned bird multiple times in her inner and outer thoughts. So.. what is the meaning of this? you may ask.- Well, I think that our beloved protagonist felt trapped in her own life at the start of the book, akin a confined bird in its cage, and as we advance in the story, she gradually opens the 'cage' door, letting herself free (so she can come back to him if she pleases as her own independent being).
One of my preferred pieces of English literature, with great meaning, sense and sensibility (PI) :))

with the best of wishes,
