This book is completely unhinged and I love it! Dark, gritty and disturbing. The Writing Retreat is a thrilling mind screw!
This story is page after page of terrific writing coupled with a deeply mysterious story and sprinkled with a cast of magnificently varied characters. Each of the characters have ample time to be impactful on the story and each brings their own magic to the party.
The setting is like something like ‘Misery’. The majority of the novel is set in a remote manor style house belonging to a famous writer. One that all the upcoming writers aspire to be like! Settle in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions and twists that will, on occasion, leave you gasping for breath.
Julia Bartz has written a superb book that will thrill readers for a long while! A deliciously genre defining novel that should be on the shelf of every thriller fan!
