This book made me cry.

The protagonist is not likable, I found her very privileged and wet paper tissue of a person. However, everything else is fantastic. Her unlikability is realistic, which I found refreshing and helped me stay invested in the story. The whole story is written in such a realistic manner, I really believed this was something that happened, even when the fairy tale inspiration is clear.

The characters are complex and written with lots of layers. Some might not be likable, but they are deffinitely captivating. The twist ending, I didn't see it coming at all, I was both surprised and satisfied. I cried at the ending a lot, even though it made me hate the protagonist even more. Highly recommended, I cannot wait to read more from this author.
