I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara

5.0

I was worried this book would lose some of its "oomph" now that the Golden State Killer has been caught, but I was wrong. So wrong! This book had me gripped from the very first page. I devoured it in less than a week. Michelle takes you on a ride throughout California as she recounts the heinous crimes committed by GSK in the 70's and early 80's. The editors did a fantastic job piecing together Michelle's notes and recordings alongside her drafts and finished excerpts. I am so heartbroken that she is not alive to see his apprehension. I would recommend this book to any true crime fan in a heartbeat. It's not one to pass over.
