I Think Our Son Is Gay, Vol. 02 by Okura

5.0

This was a brilliant sequel. I love how quietly accepting and supportive Hiroki's brother, Yuri, is. Seeing his POV was so cute. I think he might be Ace, or maybe he's just too young to know his orientation yet, but I definitely get an aro-ace vibe from him.
I flove how supportive Hiroki's mum is, but how she's also carefully analysing situations, like staying over and phone wallpapers. The fact she read the BL manga was AWESOME. Such a precious moment, when she encouraged Hiroki to read it and think for himself, without admitting he'd been influenced by his absently homophobic father. She's really trying to help Hiroki find his voice and his strength to feel how he feels without always lying about it or hiding it. The way she tries hard to understand him and his feelings is amazing. The way a simple phrase or conversation makes her rethink things from Hiroki's POV, like the shoes situation and the "what a waste" conversation. Each were subtly brilliant, clever and eye-opening for her.
The epilogue, where the author explains they came out to their mother during the process of writing the manga was just... There are no words for how powerful that is.
