She is funny, and pulls off even those jokes that shade into cliche thanks to the years since this book was published and her own age. Like a lot of funny people she is profane to the point of exhaustion. Which reminds my a lot of my own mother. Often I want to say to her come on, please, this matters, take this seriously. In Rachel's case it's clear this comes partially from her own overstrong feelings on Things Mattering and also a desire not to be fetishized. I still don't know why my mom is like that.

0/5, did not fix my mommy issues
