Guava and Grudges
by Alexis Castellanos
A romance with two young adult Cuban leads with cooking and photography mixed with star crossed love was a literal sweet respite from the serious reads I’ve been snagging. I did find it surprising that this wasn’t taking place anywhere remotely near Miami but I also appreciated the small town Washington setting. A pleasing read (a little predictable in terms of writing /dialogue) but one worth perusing if you want to venture into pastries, rivalries and secret moments to get what you want.
