The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni

5.0

This book was poignant and sweet and really stayed with me long after I finished. Sam’s Mother was my favorite character: her iron will and faith was so believable and endearing, even when she was over the top, which happened a lot. It was neat to learn more about elements of the Catholic tradition. This was a coming of age tale of lifelong friendship. Our main character Sam was born with ocular albinism and we see him grow from bullied child into a man who comes into the fullness of himself. It was just the best book!
