If I’m in my Tricia Levenseller Era? Yes and, please, I want more because these books are my comfy thing now. Yes, I know it has pirates and otherworldly creatures. Yes, I know the main character of this one is an assassin. Yes, I know I said comfy and it is. And funny and amazing so go read it and let me be.
After reading the original duology, I wanted so badly to read the spin-off with our favorite assassin as the main character. The characters are definitely the best thing in these books and, the Queen’s Vengeance, is no exception. Sorinda is the most mysterious of the crew… and the most dangerous. As a grumpy, antisocial, loyal girl thirsty for justice, she was so interesting to know and her journey through this story was so heart warming. I’m a fan of her now and forever.
And Kearan? I’m a fan since book 1, I knew this boy was husband material right away and I’m so proud of him. This boy is goals ok? These two together? Tears. In the romance part and character development, this book is king. And the plot was also good, it just started too slow for so few pages and it was there that let perfection slip away. If the narrative had it been more balanced, maybe could have been better than the first two books. Because Tricia’s writing was superior, without a doubt. The worldbuilding, even the plot, is amazing how much she has grown as a writer and I can’t wait for the next books.
An idea? A whole series about this found family of pirate girls. I will read ALL of them. I want ALL of them. And the cherry on top? Last book being Roslyn’s book. That is the dream now.
