Overbite by Meg Cabot

4.0

From a sequel standpoint and comparing this to the original, I think "Overbite" did a great job in taking us back into the world of vampires, the Palatine, and its characters. You're immediately invested in these characters again (especially Meena and Alaric for me!), especially after the first couple chapters!

I will say, this book was almost going to be 3/5 for me for the longest time. Mainly because of how the plot was taken about halfway through and especially because of how Lucien's character and personality was handled. Fortunately, nothing came from it from a romantic sense from Meena, but I still hated how his basically abusive behavior was almost romanticized albeit just to himself mostly.

The reason why I upped this to a 4/5 was because dispute some of the minor issues I had with it, I loved how it ended. Every question was answered, every character had a set ending and I feel like for a duology, it ended things perfectly!

Side-note: my mind was also blown with the fact that the Minetta Stream in the book was an inspiration from the actual stream in real life that was supposed to run through a fountain in the NY University Meg Cabot worked in. Which if you're a Meg Cabot fan, you know her work in that NY dorm inspired the Size 12 series.
I was like, "Are those series connected now?!"
