Queen's Hope by E.K. Johnston

5.0

The biggest thank you to E. K. Johnston, because she has fueled the fire that is my love for Padmé. If I could relate to one character the best it would be Sabé, because I too would do anything for Padmé. Ever since I watched the prequels all those fateful years ago (probably when I was like 6? who knows) and re-discovering my love for Star Wars last year, I have remained drawn to Padmé and have named her my favorite character. OF ALL TIME. Also thank you Johnston for giving us queer rep!! I didn’t realize how badly I needed it till now. The writing was phenomenal, and it felt like the author saw Padmé exactly as I had her in my mind. She somehow made Jar Jar Binks semi-respectable, and made me more empathetic towards Anakin! Anakin and Padmé’s relationship felt realistic and understandable. <3 my heart is forever in this series, if there’s ever a screen adaptation for these novels I call playing one of the handmaidens!
