Brynne Weaver’s Leather & Lark is the second book in her Ruinous Love Trilogy. Much like the first in this series, there were certainly some dramatic and traumatic moments, SO PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNING LIST FIRST. Brynne Weaver is NOT being dramatic when she says she’s going to ruin things, but I do think she ruined pizza far less than she ruined cookies and cream ice cream (iykyk). I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the way it overlapped with the first one, but not in a repetitive way in the slightest. It made quick mention of events that were occurring and filled in some gaps, but by and large was its own unique story with little sprinkles of the past (Rowan and Sloan) and what was to come (Fionn and Rose). I really adored the characters and the way they interacted with one another. Admittedly I did find the slow burn here to be a tad too slow, but not slow enough to frustrate me too much. Overall, this is a spectacular sequel, and I can’t wait to dive into the third installment!
