The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis

4.0

I hadn't picked up this book earlier, despite being a Michael Lewis junkie, because I thought it'd focus on Trump. Instead, it's really a love letter to the government. I learned a few interesting facts on the government's inner departments & budget and also came away with a greater appreciation for it. As Michael Lewis mentioned in his afterword, the Fifth Risk grew organically from a collection of profiles and short investigative pieces--and the book reflects this--ironically, I think he was right, maybe these stories would've been better as an amazing podcast. I do wish it had dived more systematically into the entire org structure of the government (more than the Commerce, DOE departments).
