Title: Battle of the Bookstores
Author: Ali Brady
Shelf Placement: Top Shelf
This was my first Ali Brady novel, and it definitely will not be my last. In this delightful enemies-to-friends-to-lovers rom-com, we meet Josie Klein and Ryan Lawson, two bookstore managers with very different tastes in books. When the new owner of both stores decides to merge them into one, Josie and Ryan are thrown into a sales competition for the coveted solo manager position.
As a book lover, I adored the subtle nods to bookish pet peeves and the clever references to beloved characters and lines. The banter between Josie and Ryan had me laughing out loud more times than I can count, and the emotional moments landed perfectly. I’ll even admit—the ending brought a tear to my eye.
This story was fun, heartwarming, and full of charm. It’s a must-read for anyone who loves books about books, great banter, and a romance that leaves you smiling long after you turn the last page.
Vibe:
Rom-com perfection with a bookish twist, packed with clever references and heartfelt moments.
Who I’d Recommend It To:
Anyone who loves enemies-to-lovers done right, bookshop settings, and charming rom-coms that make you laugh, cry, and fall in love all over again.
