Y'all, I tried. I really did. As a completionist at heart, I wanted to give this sequel a shot, especially since it featured the more interesting side characters from the lackluster first novel. For whatever reason, the heroine's voice just irritated me. It's a new year and I don't have time for books I don't completely enjoy, so it was an early return.
