The Nancys by R.W.R. McDonald

4.0

This book is a slump breaker! A few weeks ago I hit a bit of a low point in Lockdown & didn’t feel much like doing the things I usually enjoy. In pursuit of something to engage me & perk me up a bit, I turned to The Nancys and it was exactly what I needed.
Pick this book up and I guarantee it will lift your mood and have you racing through its pages to solve the mystery.

The Nancys is the best kind of cozy mystery, there’s fun & feelings, domestic & town life, a brilliant cast of characters & everything is such fun - despite there being a gruesome murder at the centre of the mystery!

The Nancys is littered with rapid dialogue and lots of it and there’s plenty of laughs along the way too. I was genuinely surprised by how funny this book was & how many times I laughed out loud.

I loved the witty banter & the cheeky adult jokes being thrown around over Tippy’s young head. Her Uncle Pike & his boyfriend Devon are the best and if you haven’t already read this book and discovered this pair, you definitely should!

I’ve no idea what the sequel, Nancy Business, has in store but I can’t wait to find out!
