Rereading these as a parent has made me realize I want to unhaul them. I never want my kids to be treated as Junie is as some points in this book by her teacher. She’s dismissed and quite ignored in some aspect. She is a personality and most of the adults in the book don’t handle that well which I don’t feel is okay. I just kind of got the mama ick from a lot of the things done by the adults and I don’t want my kids reading it thinking those things are okay being done to them. That’s a personal choice though and it hurts my little reader heart who used to love these books.
