The author’s note states that this book was a leap of faith and a two year effort and I am so glad the author trusted the world with this book. It was an amazing read that got me out of a brief but serious slump. Even though it was a mystery and fairly dark at times, Lucy’s quips made me laugh out loud. Her grandmother, Beverly, did as well and I was so glad she was a persistent character rather than one we just encountered on occasion. I thought the ending was fitting in every way and although I could see this resulting in a book hangover, I also feel content with the characters’ imaginary futures.
