I bought this on sale at my local bookshop. And let me tell you it was worth every penny of entertainment.

Translated from French, gentleman callers is a series of short stories where a woman dreams about various romantic and sexual interludes she has with various male individuals. These get increasingly more strange, not really disturbing but strange for certain. Even in the strange circumstances it's hard not to enjoy the pov of a sponge who is being used by a car washer. It's oddly saucy and sensual, but you can't help but marvel at the care and seriousness the author is translating romantic feelings to  objects and non traditional lovers.

It is definitely not everyone but it's pretty original and spectacular.
