‘The Last Bear’ is a fantastical story about a girl on an Arctic adventure, and her loving friendship with a polar bear she meets on Bear Island.
But it is also a very real story about a father and daughter relationship, loneliness, and about the urgency of protecting our arctic and the rapidly melting sea ice.
The wondrous descriptions of the ice and the astounding landscapes were some of my favourite parts, and it painted a beautiful picture in my mind. I’m sure this book will make many hearts glow.
