I genuinely don't know how to rate this one.
Yes, it was cute and adorable.
Yes, I laughed out loud at times.
Yes, I loved Desi's relationship with her dad.
Yes, I loved all the K-drama references.
And yeah, I know that K-dramas tend to be a tad over the top. So I knew this book was going to be based of those tropes and clichés. And I genuinely wouldn't have minded that. But I can't give this book a high rating after all the things Desi did. Honestly, so dangerous! Like, what the hell are you even thinking?? She was misleading and manipulative, and quite honestly, dangerous.
So yeah, I still enjoyed this book. And I loved all the references to K-dramas, and learning a bit about Korean culture, and I adore Desi's dad. And the fact that this wasn't a love triangle. And while I know that this was supposed to be based on clichés, it still bothered me. Because even though it was mentioned once that Desi thought she really shouldn't have done this and it was wrong, it didn't really have any consequences and she did it again afterwards. So yeah, I wish I loved this more than I did.
It's still cute and adorable, and really funny at times. But it's certainly not without its problems -in my opinion, of course.
