The Map of Stars by Laura Ruby

4.0

Made it to the conclusion of a trilogy! And I was glad to. It has the feel of a last book--at the beginning, everything has changed. But by the end, the main characters figure it out. Or they figure...something out. Ruby does some sophisticated playing with time and space in this novel, more sophisticated than you often see in books for this age group. Definitely gives it the true sci fi ending that the story deserves. I also think the kids have grown up a bit, though I would have loved to have more time for just a little more emotional development for them instead of some of the action.
