this was such a weird reading experience. i fully went into it and around the halfway point expecting to not be interested in buddy reading this sequel with my bestie AT ALL... however, those twisted sisters got me again. one thing they can nail is an angsty romance in a fantasy series. as for everything else, a bit of a mess. i know this is pretty common for first books in a fantasy series, but this felt sooo info dumpy to me. especially in callies chapters. montanas were easily the more interesting povs to read. and i honestly felt like the bridge from the first half to the second half felt a little disconnected (yes by lindsay lohan).
