The Border Keeper by Kerstin Hall

5.0

I found this short book sitting in my library on the new release shelf. I'm aware of every new release fantasy and most SF, but there seemed to be no publicity around this title when it came out. I picked it up because of the blurb and read it in three sittings. I loved everything about it. The tone, the setting, the mythology, and the complex characters. Perhaps best of the year.
