Cow Girl by Kirsty Eyre
2.0
I wouldn't have known this was a comedy if it hadn't been explicitly stated in the description. Honestly, it felt more like a tragedy with all the loneliness, heartbreak, and trauma Billie's carrying around, not to mention the satire levels of homophobia.
I usually enjoy the love stories (enemies to lovers can be amazing if done right), but even that was underdeveloped.
I'd normally have given this three stars but deducted a star for the ridiculous levels of transphobic nonsense which really shouldn't have passed the edit phase for a book in 2020.
