I understand why there was such a divide about the spice level of this book when it first came out. For Ali Hazelwood, this is a spicy book. Compared to my catalogue of dark romance books I have read; it was maybe 2.5/5 on the spice scale.
The banter in this book bantering at its best. The author wrote about anxiety in college/Olympic sports realistically. She wrote about how a mental injury can be just as debilitating or worse than a physical injury. The FMC recovers from the mental block over a realistic timeline.
This is one of Ali's best. A great stand-alone rom com.
