God of Ruin by Rina Kent
4.0

I almost gave this book 5 stars.

Landon is easily one of the best and iconic characters I’ve ever come across.

He starts off as this self-absorbed, narcissistic god with zero empathy, fully living up to his title of the “God of Ruin.” He embraces chaos like it’s his birthright, and honestly, he’s both hilarious and completely unhinged in the best way possible. His character flows perfectly from the previous books (which are a must-read), and his mayhem is as captivating as it is destructive. He thrives on creating chaos to fill the void inside, but the fact that he’s also a sculptor adds this unexpected layer of grace to his character.

And honestly, what’s more poetic than a psychopathic sculptor finding his muse—someone he wants to ruin and turn into stone, yet becomes completely obsessed with in the process?

Landon’s character development was phenomenal. He didn’t lose his psychopathic traits but learned to practice empathy, much like it’s encouraged in the real world. He matured without losing the essence of who he was. What makes him even better than Killian is that he feels more coherent and layered—like an upgraded version in many ways.

Mia was also great. She matched Landon’s chaos in her own way, making their relationship feel natural. Landon has a love for everything unconventional, and Mia is exactly that.

So why only 4 stars? If I were rating just Landon and their relationship, it’d be a solid 5. But the plot took a strange turn toward the end. It felt like a part of the story was patched in, and while it made sense on some level, it also felt out of place.

That said, I still highly recommend the book, and I’m definitely continuing the series!
