Everything's Coming Up Rosie
by Courtney Walsh
Courtney Walsh has quickly become an autoread for me, and I couldn’t wait to dive into Everything’s Coming Up Rosie.
Like Walsh’s other works, Rosie’s development is central to the story, with a delightful romance playing close second string. Rosie’s sense of disillusionment with her life, as her friends hit typical ‘success’ milestones is so relatable. I also love the way Walsh plays with characters of different ages and perspectives. Rosie is hit with a dash of humility when she finds herself directing a play for an old folks home, but it’s the perfect way for her to explore her relationship with acting, and discover some hard truths.
Rosie’s chemistry with Booker is so sweet and I loved their earnest and honest relationship. There was a wonderful maturity in their dynamic which was so satisfying. The story was well paced, and had just the right balance of unpredictability and dependability for a rom com.
I was fortunate to enjoy this both as an audio and book and would recommend both! The narration was wonderful, and perfectly captured the many dramatic characters and situations in this story.
Thank you to the publishers for an early copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.
