The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

5.0

This book has been on my TBR list for awhile, and I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it. It's shorter than others I have piled up so I figured it would be a quick read, and man did I speed through it. I was hooked by the first page and couldn't put it down until I had reached the end a few hours later.

The way of life for the people that live on the reservation is explained in a such a way that you envy them for the closeness and sense of community while still aching for their heartbreak and hardships. I found it to be a kind of humor that I enjoy, in the way that the truth can be funny and painful at the same time. I do warn you that I cried by page twenty. I didn't care for it.

All in all a wonderful book that I think everyone should read. I'm sure I'll end up rereading this one in the future.
