this SHOCKED ME. ms hoover needs to write more thrillers.
however i just feel a bit funny about the disability rep/views portrayed in the book to give it a 5 star rating. like yh the whole book was yucky and I LOVE THAT. but i think it’s the subtle ableism in it that i draw the line ygm.
talking about disability rep in the book:
the they’re better off dead than disabled trope (awful). the faking disability, adding to a lot of ableism in society. “asperger’s” being used rather than ASD. the portrayal that autistic people have no emotions and are capable of murder bc they have no emotions. incredibly yucky.
