The Island Home by Libby Page

What a delightful surprise! After a bit of a slow start, I absolutely fell head over hills with this family story. Granted, I read it at the perfect time and it truly resonated with me, so my very emotional response to this story is no surprise!

From the beautiful Scottish isle setting, the sense of community, and the fantastic characters to the emotional themes... I loved everything about this story! I usually find fault in these kinds of stories when people "forgive" too easily things of the past, because I find that unrealistic. Whereas here, I truly appreciated how flawed everyone is but there is a sense of accountability and growth. I really like how the difficult themes were handled...and yeah I cried a lot, in the best way!
