Fairy Tale by Stephen King

4.0

For complete transparency, my 4 stars are given to my version of the story, which cuts out 200 pages of adventuring that simply didn’t interest me compared to the beautiful and spooky tale of Charlie Reade, Mr Bowditch, and Radar, the best-written dog in literary history far as I can tell.

I want to nitpick King’s voice throughout however, as it’s pockmarked with anachronisms yet is allegedly written by the protagonist when he’s 25 or something - what gives? It threw me out more than a few times.

Oh and I skipped 200 pages. Somehow in my mind that isn’t a demerit just a fact, but worth knowing p.
