Its a long winding tale of political intrigue and adventure. Very enjoyable read if you enjoy epic tales. Its well worth the long read, the characters are enjoyable and the journey they go on keeps you engaged and guessing whats going to happen next as you read.

It does have many titles, courtly names and relationship links which I struggled to keep straight as I read but this doesnt detract too much from the story.

I would and have recommended this to people that enjoy the part of the fantasy genre that is slightly less YA. It does have bdsm sex scenes although I think they are more tame than some of the reviews suggest.
