I picked up this book on a whim and I am so glad to have read it. Like many magical girl stories, there’s some pretty dark stuff in here, so check the warnings, but it really reflects the thoughts and feelings the women of today face in a slowly collapsing society filled with violence against women. The fact that the main character just turned 29 and I just turned 29 too really impacted me as well, more in a hopeful sense than anything. Because at the end of the day, this is a hopeful story.
