I want my fifteen hours back. Larson is a competent writer, I appreciate his turn of phrase but this book felt like it should have been at least two. Larson clearly wanted to write a book about the Chicago's World Fair but someone else wanted him to write about H.H. Holmes, possibly to sell more books. There also must have been a minimum word count because he literally lists menus of what people had for dinner when it is clearly not necessary. I am glad I borrowed this from the library and didn't spend my own money on it. I would consider picking up another book by this author but only from a library, just in case this happens again.
