WOW! Just WOW!

So, I kinda remember the movie and was expecting this to be a laughable cringe-fest but instead I got a genuinely beautiful, touching story about 2 lonely people becoming friends against all odds and expectations... and then we got to the final 20% and it gets all sorts of fucked up... every time I thought, "why is this happening?" it got even more bizarre... from the visit to the retardation education expert, to the planning of the wedding to the batshit insane visit to the gynaecologist to the consummation of the marriage to "He's not my son..."

I couldn't understand it and wanted to hate everything that was happening but when I really thought about it, I've given a bunch of books 5 stars where the lead characters are robbers, rapists, paedophiles and murderers so surely screwing a retard isn't that bad, is it? Most importantly, it is a very well written book and I can guarantee that it'll stick with me a lot longer than probably 90% of the stuff I read this year...
